Of the many roles that Amy has played over the past 30+ years, among the most rewarding has been as “mother”; Whether as a mother to her 2 imperfectly perfect children; or in a supportive role to her nephews, nieces, her friends' children or her children's friends OR as an attorney for the many children who have passed through the child welfare system. Amy is passionate about being a champion for young people and a voice for the underserved. Amy knows that “mothers” come in many different forms.
A graduate from Cedar Ridge High School in Old Bridge, NJ with an undergraduate degree from GWU and a law degree from American University, Amy started her career as a criminal defense attorney and spent most of her legal career with the Legal Aid Society, Juvenile Rights Division in Bronx/Manhattan.
Amy believes that we are at our best when we lead with love, hold one another accountable, practice compassion, celebrate our differences and lift one another up.
